Sugar Cane Alley
Opening night shenanigans include a screening of the award-winning Euzhan Palcy’s classic “Sugar Cane Ally”.  Q&A to follow with Ms. Palcy.

Synopsis:  On a sugar cane plantation in 1930 Martinique lives José, a bright mischievous 11-year-old and his grandmother, a tough, wise woman determined to save him from the hard life she has known. When Jose wins a scholarship, she is ready to sacrifice everything for his chance at an education and an escape from the fields.

Celebration of the Legacy of the Hon. Shirley Chisholm

A formal luncheon to celebrate Ms. Chisholm’s legacy and 100th birthday.  Produced by the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute, Bajans and Friends for Health and Education and the Jamaica Culture Alliance.  The Caribbean Heritage 2025 Shirley Chisholm Legacy Award will be presented.

Designing for the Screen and  Red Carpet:
